Stained Glass

Karin Williams, Mgr                Gary Wright  Instructor

We are in mid-summer, and on a reduced instructor schedule.  We expect weekly instruction to resume mid-September.

Summer Classes will be held at Brownwood on Monday mornings (9 – 11 a.m.) on July 29, August 12, August 26 and September 9.

Rolling Acres Friday morning classes (9 – 11 a.m.) are currently on summer break, but students can continue to work on their own during that time.

We’d like to welcome Mike Dufano to our group of instructors. He will be helping out at both locations.  Mike provided us with this bio:
I’m originally from Atlanta, GA where I was a senior systems integration engineer in the SatCom industry.  My wife Carolyn and I moved to the village of McClure June 2021. I wanted to join the woodworking community and the day I signed up, the stained glass group was meeting and since that hobby was on my retirement bucket list, I signed up for the beginning class. I quickly obtained a complete set of tools and skills and  two years later, I made my first LC Tiffany reproduction lamp (406 pieces of glass). I still have a lot to learn, and I do enjoy teaching new folks what I’ve learned so far.

The Rolling Acres Stained Glass group has finished many wonderful projects.

Our courses are designed so you can work at your own pace and level of skill to develop your expertise and confidence levels so you can make various types of beautiful projects. We start with sun-catchers, then a beveled Iris window panel, leaded panel, lamps, and much, much more.

There is always room for new artists to learn this craft, so stop in and see what we are making, and join us in the fun! Watch for future reports as we share the progress of our glass enthusiasts as they learn new skills.
