The VWC website now has a capability to have members post new discussions (called Threads) or comments/additions to exisitng threads. This capability can be used to post projects, including "crv" files and photographs of projects.
Comments/suggestions for new Discussion Topics and other comments should be directed to woodshop@thevwc.org.
The attached document shows the relative hardness of many species of wood. Keep this relative hardness in mind when selecting mounting methods, tools, sool speeds and tool feed speeds.
The Janka Hardness scale is a "standard" in the woodworking industry. Note that poplar wood is almost at the bottom of the scale, thus you may experience issues relying on the tabs to hold your material.

If you come across them, post a note here please..
