General Meeting of the Villages Woodshop Club

Meeting called to order at 7:00PM

 

Mike Borfitz, President, led the pledge of allegiance followed by a moment of silence.

Introduction of new members and guests: – New members and visitors were welcomed and asked to introduce and tell a little about themselves.

Mike’s Announcements:

·         We will not have a meeting in the month of July 2019.

·         Mike talked on the second shop.

Ø   Mike showed the floor plans for the second shop.

Ø   She explained the importance of the elevator to increasing the floor space in the new shop.

Ø  The new building will be a block building.

Ø  July 1 the villages will begin to break ground on the new shop.

Ø  January of 2020 we hope to be ready to start moving new equipment into the building.

Ø  Estimated cost for the new building will be about 2.5 million dollars.

General Announcements:

·         Hans Zassenhaus gave a talk on the Village Workshop Web Site.

Ø  He show’s us how to log in (e-mail address) Password (Village Id)

Ø  He pointed out the two new features have been added to the website. You will be able to communicate with other VWC members and locate any of our members in a directory. Another section has been added where members will be able to initiate and participate in discussion pertaining to VWC Shop and Club Operation, as well as woodworking techniques.

Show and tell –

·         Chirprpriya Dhabuwala presented a bowl he made that had seven layers.

·         Dave Adamovich presented a vase he made

·         Ray Roberts presented a tray made from a maple burl.

 

50/50 Drawing:  The club took in $100 and. Prizes were - $20, $15, $15.
