EOC Meeting

March 8, 2016

Purpose: To serve as a forum to communicate matters pertinent to the administration and usage of the VWC shop and to identify opportunities to work together within the management team for the overall good of the club. 

* Follow up items from 2/9/16 meeting.

        *Videographer for Turners meetings – Jim Spallone advised Tom Miller was asked to obtain a proposal to purchase used video equipment. The Board approved $2,500 expenditure to purchase used video equipment from a local vendor. Tom will serve, temporarily, as the videographer at the Turners meetings until a permanent replacement is found.

        * Status of Stubby Lathe order – Jim Spallone advised that per John Herega the delivery date is still March 26th out of Tampa. The issue now is how to get the lathe to the Woodshop from Tampa. John is waiting to hear from the Broker and who reports that there will be an additional cost for shipping from Tampa to The Woodshop. The lathe will need to be transported professionally due to its weight and size.

        * Other - Jim Spallone -  stated storage room clean up is pending report from John Herega and will be addressed at the next meeting.

* Management update

        * D. Adamovich – Volunteer Electrician Tom Melovitz will undergoing surgery and several projects will be delayed as a result.  The small Grizzly eight inch Joiner motor went out, possible due to a loose screw. Grizzly was contacted and a motor was sent and received.  And will be installed once Tom returns.   On Friday morning March 4   Walt told one of the monitors that the barrel was not under the unit outside and asked him to go outside place it under the unit, the monitor became huffy with Walt and later in was asked to remove his drink off table saw and also became huffy with Walt.  This matter will be looked into by Anne Bell and discussed with Dick Bessler.  

        * A. Bell – No report

        * B. Bell  – After the clean up they will conduct inventory.

        * B. Behrens – Per D.Adamovich still organizing the tool crib.  Members are asking when they can have their cubbies holes back after the cleaning. Hans will be sending a note on Friday March 11th advising of when they can use their cubbies.

        * M. Borfitz  - IT Meeting of March 8, 2016, still looking for people to help.  Now that Dick Hartley is back they have two possible candidates to interview to work the Access program. They worked with Hans and the outcome is that Hans is to work with Patty Porter, Secretary to enable her to download all meeting minutes to the website, then for Hans to publish them on the web-site.

        * J. Spallone - Will report in the General Meeting

        * C. Williams – Card for ex-toy volunteer Glen Shafer who is on Hospice care.  The toy department is not making as much progress as last year, which is the plan. They are working on a lot of pocket cars for Operation Shoe Box, they are asking for 600 cars.  Accumulating more materials for the Children’s Home Society.  Not having much success from Charlie and Margret, if they go for another couple of months, this will become a problem.  Conway asked if we received the $400 donation from the Stone Yuker Group, Anne will check to see if we received this donation.

        * S. Yovan – No report

        * H. Zassenhaus – Special Projects for February - 456 of pre-made items selling for $2,964.00.  Specials Projects repairs and builds - 120 projects completed for a total 226 labor hours and a total of $2,441.00. 

* Items for future discussion - None
