A video followed with Bill introducing some simple carving ideas for anyone interested in learning to carve.

Certification and Monitor training: Dick Besler:

Certification was held on the 5th of June with five new members attending.  The next certification class will be on June 19th with 4 members.  Dick will hold classes on July 10th and 24th if needed.

Monitors had training on June 4th and there will be another class on the 18th .  Everyone is asked to come into the shop a little before 4pm so the doors can be locked.

Dick recommends that all monitors view the video before their allotted time as a refresher course.

There is a new video on the website.

Office Administration: Anne Bell

Anne mentioned that Andy McTear will be in town around July 9th.

There are no set dates for the fall classes as of yet.  Bob is working on the schedule. Sign up will most likely be the end of August with classes starting in the middle of September.

John reminded the members of the Turners meeting on June 17th at the woodshop at 7pm.

Shop Administrator: Dave Adamovich

Dave told the members that the shop would not have any compressed air on Wed. June 11th because a new compressor is being installed.  There will be no sanding on the large sander that day.

Dave said the shop storage area is a mess and asked that the members keep the tables and carts as clean as possible.

Toys

Mike informed the members that a new position was created in the Toy Department. We now have a “Toy Painting Manager”.  This position will be held by Jo Harlos, one of the painters.  Mike went over the Job Description on the overhead projector.   Dan and Jo have established standards associated with the toy painting such that each painter can contribute to the best of his/her ability.  If anyone is interested in joining the painting group, please direct them to the front desk. The front desk in turn will give Jo the information to follow up on.
