Board of Directors Meeting
November 21, 2019
Call to Order
A board of directors meeting of The Village Woodshop was held on November 21, 2019 at 704 Oak Street, The Villages, Florida. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM and was presided over by Mike Cromwell, Chairman with Byron Porter Jr., secretary. A quorum was established.

Harm Borfitz, Mike Cromwell, Judi Meyers, John Warner, Alvin Corenblum, John Scott, Stephen Yovan and Glenn Croteau.

· John presented the names of the following people to be voted on for the 2020 Officers and Board of Directors

Approval of Previous Minutes
· Motion to approve the minutes of the previous October 24, 2019 meeting was made by Harm Borfitz and seconded by Judi Meyers and unanimously approved by all.
Old Business
Officers’ Reports
Chairman Report presented by Mike Cromwell
· At the January meeting we will vote on the slate of officers. After the meeting the BOD will meet to pick a new Chairman of The Board.
President’s Report presented by Mike Borfitz
· Second Shop has now been officially approved.
· The waiting list remains at 360 people. We will reduce the certification schedule to 20 new members per month through the high season with an increase to 40 new members per month for the May through August time frame.
· We are collecting data in order to try and improve shop utilization.
· Glenn Croteau and Mike will be looking at ways to make the maintenance team more responsible for some of the monitor items.
· The Education Department has been putting a special push on making the mentor program more personal and active.
· Christmas Party – Seats are rapidly being filled for the party on December 14.
Vice President Report presented by Jim Spallone
· No report.
Treasure Report presented by Doug Parks
· See the village Woodshop Club’s Server for the budget details.
· A motion to approve the Financial Report Balance Sheet was made by Harm Borfitz and seconded by Judi Meyers and passed by unanimous voice vote.
· A motion to approve next year’s profit and loss budget as presented with the addition of a $500 woodworking expense. The motion was presented by Judi Meyers and seconded by Harn Borfitz and approved by all.
Shop Administrator presented by Glenn Croteau
· 18 members will be trained to change band saw blades, sandpaper, chop saw blades, etc.
· Clean up day will be after the first of the year.
Safety Committee Report presented by John Herega for Harm Borfitz
· The shoe policy is being reviewed and updated.
· No gloves are to be worn unless they are closed at the wrist and skintight.
· Long hair must be confined.
· One incident was reported.
