General Meeting of the Villages Woodshop Club

Meeting called to order at 7:00PM

Mike Borfitz, President, led the pledge of allegiance with a moment of silence and an offering of prayers and thought for those in our club membership and their families

Introduction of new members and guests – New members and visitors were welcomed and asked to introduce and tell a little about themselves.

Mikes’ Announcements:

· 20 new members are in the process of being admitted to the shop. Any person on the list who was called but for whatever reason could not join at this time will maintain their position on the list.

· Please remove your personal items from cabinets that are not designated for storage and either take them home or place them in an area designated for storage.

· John Herrega put down some thoughts about each members commitment to the club. I hope everyone take’s the time to read his comments.

· The club has made $310.00 using a program called Amazon Smile. Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible Amazon Smile purchases to the charitable organization of your choice. Same product, same price, same service just start your shopping at smile.amazon.com.

· Jim Spallone announced they are looking for volunteers for turning pens on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 4 to 6 PM or on May 24/25 from 9 AM to 1PM.

· Ron Valli has offered to be the photographer for the shop.

General Announcements:

· Bob Matthews made a plea for people to share their woodworking expertise with other members by volunteering their time as instructors.  Please contact Bob Matthews or Debbie Larouere or the front desk. They promise, they will help you every step of the way.

· William Pappas gave a presentation on how the new electronic side door check in will work.

· Lowell Sundermann gave a demonstration on the software required to design a project for the CNC Router. 

Open floor to questions:

Show and tell –

· Pat Cooper presented a hand carved sand piper bird which she made out of bass wood.

· Wayne Dombroski showed two bowls he made using a scroll saw. Wayne inserted a Mickey Mouse logo into the bowl.

· Several turned bowls with Indian style geometric designs were shown. The bowls were finished with Tung Oil

50/50 Drawing: The club took in $117 dollars and retained $56.00. Prizes were - $20, $15, $15 and $11.
